I conducted a scientific comparison of the WETO tumbler and a YETI tumbler in my kitchen. I used magnetic lids similar to those on YETI tumblers, as I only had one WETO lid. Starting with water at 190 degrees, I measured the temperature every hour. In the first hour, the WETO tumbler lost 5 degrees more than the YETI, but both lost about 10 degrees per hour after that. By the eighth hour, the WETO water was at 108 degrees, while the YETI was at 110 degrees. Although the YETI performed slightly better, the difference isn’t substantial enough to be noticeable. I’ve seen many reviews claiming the WETO tumbler doesn’t retain heat as well as the YETI, but I believe the lid is the main factor. If you choose the WETO tumbler, I recommend using a magnetic lid, and it will serve as a great alternative to a YETI tumbler. It’s all based on science!

This tumbler is fantastic at keeping beverages warm, making it perfect for coffee on the go. However, the lid is very difficult to clean thoroughly. The smaller lid cannot be detached, which leads to buildup from the drinks. I’ll either have to buy a new lid or dispose of the entire tumbler. Either way, I’m going to end up losing money because of this issue.

As for the lid, it slides open instead of flipping, which is fine, but it makes cleaning underneath it really tough. I’ve tried running water to get into the narrow space, but it doesn’t help much. I ended up using an older lid from another mug that fits better. Aside from that, the tumbler itself is great!
